Manifesto — Soul & Script

Soul & Script is a hub for arts — for readers, writers, thinkers, painters, and artists of every kind. We started this because talent doesn't wait for permission, and it shouldn't have to look far for a room that takes it seriously.

We believe every person carries something worth putting into words, onto a page, or up on a wall — a soul, and the script to give it shape. This is the place to bring both.

Cross your boundaries. There is no language barrier here — only the ones we haven't crossed yet.

That line is more than a motto. It's what we opened with, at our first-ever session — "No Language Barrier", held on 18th May at 1:30 PM in Lecture Theatre 3 — and it's the standard we hold ourselves to since. Every art, every voice, every language of expression belongs here.

What We Believe

We believe creativity isn't a side project — it's a discipline, worth building a community around. We believe feedback should be honest and generous at the same time. We believe the person who's never shared their work before deserves the same welcome as the one who's done it a hundred times. And we believe every art form — however quiet, however loud — deserves an audience.

What We Do

Soul & Script features literally every art we can bring under one roof. Some of what you'll find here:

On the page: Poetry, prose, picture-story writing, reading & writing, philosophy and reflective essays.

On the wall and behind the lens: Painting, sketching, photography, videography.

In the room: Open mic sessions, book sessions, movie talks — live gatherings where the work gets shared out loud, not just read in silence.

How It Works

You don't need to be a professional, and you don't need permission. Create a free contributor account, share your work — a poem, a story, a photograph, a sketch, an open mic reading — and our team reviews every submission before it goes up. No gatekeeping for the sake of it; just a second pair of eyes to make sure the room stays one worth being in.

Who Runs This

Soul & Script is led by Azan Zaheen, President, alongside our Founders and Co-Founders, and organised day-to-day by dedicated teams — Media, Promotion, Judges, Communication, and Finance — each keeping a different part of this running. Meet everyone on the Team page.

Editorial Principles

Every submission gets read in full before it's published. We give honest, constructive feedback where a piece needs it, and we don't publish anonymous attacks on other members' work. Opinions and reflections published here belong to their individual writers, not to Soul & Script as an organisation.
